अन्ध-गोलाङ्गूल-न्यायः

विकी-

            एकः अन्धः क्लेशेन मार्गे गच्छन् आसीत् । तदा एकः मनुष्यः तम् उक्तवान् ‘इयं गौः, एतस्याः लाङ्गूलं गृहीत्वा अग्रे गच्छति चेत् भवान् गृहं प्राप्तुं शक्नोति’ इति । गोः लाङूगूलं गृहीत्वा सः अन्धः कृत्स्ने ग्रामे भ्रमणं कृतवान् परन्तु स्वं गृहं न प्राप्तवान् । ऋजुस्वभावान् जनान् धूर्ताः वञ्चयन्ति इति द्योतयितुम् अस्य न्यायस्य प्रयोगः भवति । शङ्कराचार्यैः अस्य न्यायस्य प्रयोगः कृतः- यदि चाज्ञस्य सतो मुमुक्षोः अचेतनम् आनात्मान् आत्मेत्युपदिशेत् प्रमाणभूतं शास्त्रम् स श्रद्दधानतया अन्धगोलाङ्गूलन्यायेन तदात्मदृष्टिं न परित्यजेत् तद्व्यतिरिक्तं चात्मानं न प्रतिपद्येत। (ब्रह्मसूत्रशाङ्कारभाष्यम् १-१-७)

लौकिकन्यायाञ्जलिः-

            The maxim of the blind man and the cow's tail. The story is that an evil-disposed fellow found a blind man who, having lost his way, was wandering about helplessly. Expressing great sympathy for him, and promising to help him, the man led him to a young and frisky cow, and putting her tail into his hand told him to hold on, and that she would certainly lead him to the village to which he wished to go. The result was, of course, most disastrous.
